Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies


Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies

½ c. (1 stick) butter

2/3 c. sugar

1 egg yolk

2 Tbs. milk

1 c. flour

1/3 c. cocoa

Pecans or chocolate chips

1 tsp. vanilla extract

Soften butter in microwave 1 minute. Add sugar, milk, egg, vanilla. Beat with large spoon or spatula, add flour and cocoa. Beat until smooth. Refrigerate 1 hour or more until firm. Spray cookie sheet, heat oven 350°, roll dough into one inch balls. Place on cookie sheet, push thumb into center and place a pecan or chocolate chips in thumbprint. Bake 10-20 minutes. Allow to cool 2-3 minutes in pan, then move to wire rack until completely cool.

This is for chocolate lovers, large or small. Now enjoy with a hot cup of wonderful tea! My choice today will be Chocolate Rooibos. What will you choose?
